The Reykjavík City of Literature celebrates its five year anniversary the fall 2016. On this occasion, fourteen artists have, two by two, created seven pieces of art that capture the theme of the 2016 Reykjavík Reads Festival – words and visuals. These works are displayed in different places in the city and one will be screened at a local cinema.
The video Ættkvísl: Úlfabaun by artis and poet Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir and author and rapper Kött grá pje is a short film totally based on the spoken word. It connects film to poetry and words and tries to capture a similar, but at the same time quite different, experience we are used to connect to moving pictures. At its core, the video is an observation on the Reykjavík suburb Grafarvogur and its surroundings (where one of the authors grew up).
